Sculpture Hair Studio in Bromsgrove is testimony to owner Louise Kirbys’ dedication to a career that has spanned over a quarter of a century.
At the young age of 23, Louise took on the property and set up her own salon – no mean feat for someone not long out of college. Fast-forward 26 years, and Louise is now about to undertake a complete makeover of the salon – and bring her daughter Megan into the business as well.
Louise explained her reasoning behind the facelift; “I have always been in the same location and building, and have very loyal clients. With my daughter joining me, the time was right to give Sculpture a fresh new look.”
But there was another, more practical reason for undertaking the work. The salon and beauty business has been one of the hardest-hit during the pandemic of 2020 – and Louise wanted to ensure her clients feel safe and protected, as we move into a world of “new normals” and COVID vaccinations.
“I currently have 5 client stations, but I will be reducing that number down to 3. This will give my clients more space, make them feel safer, and mean we can fit suitable protective screening that should allow us all – my staff included – to be safe in our working environment.”
Louise’s choice for her salon furniture and fitout is Aston & Fincher (A&F).
Having visited the A&F showroom in Birmingham, Louise picked out a number of suitable items that would give her the look and feel she was after. However after speaking to A&F, it turned out her modest wish list could be even bigger, as the equipment could be financed by Kennet Equipment Leasing. This meant other items that she was considering but thought she’d put off buying for now could be added to the list immediately.
From initial enquiry at the showroom on the Monday morning to the finance being approved on the Wednesday, Louise is delighted at the service, and excited for the refit to begin in January 2021.
Lucy Lamb of Kennet Equipment Leasing, who arranged the finance for Louise, said of the deal “We managed to turn it all round within 2 days, and were delighted that we were able to assist Louise and her daughter Megan as they start a new chapter in their business. Kennet has worked with Aston & Fincher for many years now, and it’s established salons such as Louise’s which serve a loyal customer base that are the lifeblood of the hair and beauty industry.
“We wish Louise and Megan well, and can’t wait to see the finished results in early 2021!”
Kennet will be popping back to the salon after the refit to see how wonderful it all looks.
